My best friend had her baby today and I was honored when she asked me photograph his birth. There is something that happens when a baby comes in the world and takes his first breath, it's magic. He is absolutely beautiful and looks just like his big brothers. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day, I love you all so much.
I had my daughter take a couple pictures of me this morning, something I have been meaning to do for weeks. I think I might have some competition on my hands :)
So I have to take a minute to brag about the Petite Elite baby boutique. If you have not been in the store, you must visit. I met the owners Bernadette and her daughter Mary about a year and a half ago while I was in buying bloomers for my sisters new baby. We got to talking and they agreed to showcase some of my work in their store. Talk about a huge honor, they have been so amazing about spreading the word about my business and could not be any better to work with. Every time I went in the store I found myself wanting to be pregnant just so I could shop there. My youngest was too old to need any of the baby or toddler products and it frankly made me a little sad. So, when we decided that we were going to add one more person to our family wouldn't you know one of the first things I thought of was how I was going to get to shop there for myself!!! When I decided to pop in and look at a stroller on Friday I found out they do online baby registry so I decided to register with them. It was the easiest thing in the world to do (and fun) and they have the most amazing products. And if you have ever been in to the store you will quickly find out that they know everything there is to know about every single product that they carry. It's beyond impressive. A good friend of mine and fellow photographer had her baby girl on Sunday and I got to photograph her at only four days old. I am beginning to think this might be the magic age since she slept thee entire shoot. I have to say that doing this shoot for her made me REALLY excited to photograph my little guy in a couple of months.
I promise I had nothing to do with the cast, he had it on when I got there :)

We worked so hard for this image and to be honest, I was not leaving without it. And after several attempts something beautiful happened....
Family is important to me. I grew up in a very loving family, and even though they are far away we remain very close. Today I got to work with an amazing family, the love between them was so obvious and I felt very honored to be able to capture that.

There is something truly magical about the right light. As many of you know as you have watched me scour every corner of your home for just the right light, it really does make all the difference. I met this family when I shot their newborn pictures six months ago, and as I was looking around their house I noticed their bathtub. I had to wait until she was a little older obviously, but she was so sweet and good to me.

and yes, I made mom drag this beautiful chair into the doorway. I am a little limited on my furniture moving these days, and I always feel guilty making other people do all the heavy lifting :)
I had a fabulous weekend with my sister, it went way too fast as it always does.
